The Ercall
The Ercall is the smaller Wrekin sibling that provides the ‘double hill’ effect so familiar to millions of travellers that whizz past by car and rail. Famed for its exposures of Precambrian and Cambrian rock, the geology on display here is of international significance, while the verdant quarry floor is hugely important for a wide range of flying insects and a significant site for mosses and liverworts.
